UV water treatment systems use ultraviolet light to disinfect water by inactivating microorganisms like bacteria, viruses and protozoa. When water passes through the UV chamber, the UV-C light disrupts the DNA structure of these microorganisms, rendering them unable to reproduce or cause illness.
UV lamps typically last about 9,000 to 12,000 hours of continuous use, which translates to roughly one year of operation. Most systems have indicators or alarms to alert you when it’s time to replace the lamp.
The SPECTRUM Sabre system uses UV-C light to disinfect water. This UV light effectively inactivates microorganisms like bacteria and viruses, ensuring the water’s safety without the need for chemicals, additives, or alterations to the taste of the treated water.
It is recommended to use industry-standard 5µm pre-filtration in conjunction with the SPECTRUM Sabre systems. This pre-filtration helps remove particulate matter and debris, ensuring the UV disinfection process works optimally.
