Features & Information
SPECTRUM plastic housing systems are tailored to suit individual applications dependant on the level of filtration required. Single housings provide an effective one stage process, used to target specific contaminants, for example, bulk solids, sediment or organics. Two-stage systems are implemented when an extensive secondary filter, such as a fine filtration or water treatment cartridge, benefits from pre-filtration, prolonging service life. If applications demand a full filtration cascade, a three-stage system is recommended, which delivers a spatial and economic solution.
FAQs - SFHS
Two-stage housing systems are often used where an expensive secondary filter (such as a very fine filter or water treatment cartridge) is used and requires protective pre-filtration. Three-stage housing systems are useful in applications which require multiple stages of different types of filtration or a filtration ‘cascade’.
The SPECTRUM SFHS come as complete systems in protective packaging including all necessary accessories for installation and monitoring.
Plastic filter housings are often chosen for their resistance to corrosion, lightweight nature, and affordability compared to metal housings. They are most suited to applications where chemical compatibility and weight are critical.
Consider the below factors when selecting a plastic filter housing. Consulting with a filtration expert or supplier for guidance is also advised.
- Type of fluid
- Flow rate
- Temperature
- Pressure
- Chemical compatibility
- Filter element requirements
